One of the things I love about visiting new places is getting inspiration for my stories, and they can come from anywhere – people, location, culture, etc.
Recently I joined my hubby in Queensland for his work. Across from our hotel was the most gorgeous botanical garden, and I’m a huge fan of eerie looking trees and plants. Especially those that remind me of the demonic tree stump in Evil Dead. And that’s exactly what I found. My current novel is set in a world where such trees exist. Here are some of the cool things I discovered in the park.

What do you take photos of for inspiration?

Such great photos T! Love the goose
They had a similar garden in Brisbane that I went to for buddahs birthday.
Thanks Cass… Love the gardens in Brisbane
Oh now you should go to Cambodia and visit Siem Reap’s Angkor Wat, there you will see the best overgrown fig trees ever, where temples are buried within. Part of the film “Radiers of the lost Ark” was filmed there.
Just loved that first pic of the gorgeous arch.
That sounds so nice… have to go and research it…
WOW! Those photos are INCREDIBLE! I can see how you’d be inspired there!
Thanks…
Great pics!! I’m so horrible with a camera that I usually avoid them all together except for family moments. I love writing from great pics though.
Me too… they help you see things differently
I love crazy, creepy, beautiful trees. These were fabulous. Thanks for sharing!!!
Glad you’re enjoying them
Gorgeous photos! I’m a fan of weird trees too. And geese that look like they’re snooty even when duck-footed! Hehehe!
Hehe… he does look snooty
I love freaky trees, too! Great photos!
You have good taste
The archway reminds me of scenes from Terra Nova.
You know it does… freaky
Oh wow, those photos are gorgeous. Especially that first one.

Awesome photos. I especially love the first image. You’re right about it being super futuristic
Really like that photo

Great pics. I love banyan trees, but that pathway arbor is gorgeous!! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks.
Those are awesome pictures! And awesome trees.
I know… I could have stayed there forever.
Those trees are just wild!
That fig tree looks rather creepy, as though it’s going to come alive.
Exactly.
Awesome pics! I take all kinds of pictures, but lots of nature shots.
me too:)
Those trees look so eerie! My imagination is firing too.
Awesome.
These are all inspirational pictures. Well, maybe not the goose!
The first one does have a futuristic feel to it. Nature and sculpture done seamlessly.
That what I thought as I was walking through it.
Wonderful. I enjoyed seeing these trees. So full of life and mystery. And yes the goose is cute!
It is a cutie, but I’m guessing by it’s gaze, it doesn’t want to snuggle me.
That’s an amazing looking place. Nice photos.

It was pretty nice… just overcast and rainy
