Lindsey R. Loucks has tagged me in The Next Big Thing Blog Hop. Many thanks Lindsey. I will answer ten questions about the book I’m currently working on. Rather than tag anyone specifically, I’m going to offer it out to all my followers.
I will answer ten questions about my book.
1. What is the title of your novella?
Cursecaster
2. Where did the idea come from?
This idea has been mulling around in my head for so long, I can’t remember exactly where I got the idea from. It’s like it’s always been with me:)
3. What genre does it fall under?
YA Fantasy / Steampunk with a sprinkling of romance
4. Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
Okay, this is a hard one.
Heroine: Adira played by Georgie Henley. Something about her look reminds me very much of how I picture Adira in my head.
Hero: Sith played by Josh Hutcherson – I like that innocent look.

5. What is a one-sentence synopsis of your novella?
Accidentally kidnapped, eighteen-year-old Adira plans to escape from Windtorn, a decayed town once ruled by witches until she’s accused of being a cursecaster, which means instant execution – so now she must trust the one person who got her into the mess to get her home safely.

6. Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
Hard to tell right now. I do have a publisher in mind for this story. More on that once I’ve submitted it:)
7. How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
This is still in progress… It’s a story I’ve been writing in between other projects.
8. What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
I’ll come back to you on this one… not sure I can think of one yet.
9. Who or what inspired you to write this book?
My husband. He always encourages me and gives me new ideas when I get stuck.
10. What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
It is set in a world where metal monsters control everything, and magic is forbidden.

I know Josh did a great job in the Hunger Games but I can’t get over him playing in those dorky “Journey to the Center of the Earth” movies. Blech.
Your name caught my eye when I was on someone else’s site on the Genre Favorites blog hop. You’d made a comment and I saw “tfwalsh”
Since I’m tdwalsh, I HAD to click on you. Turns out we both write YA, I LOVE urban fantasy, and I happened to write a book with a world where magic is forbidden. Weird, huh?
Only, I’m Tamara, instead of Tanya. If I’d been named Tanya this would have gotten a little creepy. haha. So, of course you have a new follower because we are clearly long lost twins. You must come visit my site and say hello!! And I’ll have to look and see if you have your genre favorites on here so I can know if we have other stuff in common.
That is pretty awesome Tamara… Popping over to your site now:)
That sounds super awesome. I know what you mean about not knowing when an idea started because it’s been with you so long… that’s how my first book was. Good luck!
Thanks Alexia.
Yay! Your novella sounds amazing! Are you almost done with it? *nudge, nudge*
Not quite there yet… hehe. First draft is taking longer than anticipated:)
Can’t wait to read it! I like that you picked an actress to play your heroine that actually looks like a teenager. I look at teens these days and think they look like kids. I’m so old!
Totally agree:)
Isn’t it fun to pick actors for the leads in your story? I like yours.
That and the metal monsters!
I know… I quite enjoyed it.
I like the sound of this one…a sprinkling of romance. That’s cute!
Thanks:)
Good luck Tania! Just I wait to read your book!
Thanks…
That sounds like a very unique storyline. Supportive hubbies are the best!
Thanks Shelley. Totally agree… I couldn’t do it without my supportive hubby.
Your novella sounds fantastic and I always like to see actors chosen to pick the parts. Good luck with this.
That was a first for me:)
This sounds so good Tania! I hope you keep working on it, I’d love to read it!
Thanks… I’m quite enjoying this story.
