Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be.
Anyone can play along!
- Grab a book you are reading.
- Open to a random page and pull two sentences.
- Post the book title, author, and page number.
- No spoilers, please.
My quote for this week comes from City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau, pg .
‘In the city of Ember, the sky was always dark. The only light came from great flood lamps mounted on the buildings and at the tops of poles in the middle of large squares.’
I know this is an oldie, but I love this movie and decided it was about time I read the book. It was a lot of fun, enjoyable and a very quick read. The concept of people living underground with their power source close to twiddling is a fascinating premise. There’s nothing special about the two main characters, Lina and Doon, except their drive to escape and never give up.

It doesn’t look very interesting from the cover.
I never finished the book. I should give it another chance. I love the premise of it.
I loved the movie, too! Been wanting to read the book for so long but my TBR pile is way too high right now

Have neither seen the movie nor read the book. I’ll have to remedy that.
I thought the movie was great, I should read the book now. Check out my TT @ This Is How It’s Supposed To Be
It was a great book and fun movie.
Have never heard of this one, but the premise sounds a bit creepy. I’d probably want to escape, too. My post: The Last Word
Sounds like a great plot!
This is totally on my TBR list! Like you, I enjoyed the movie and I keep thinking I should get around to reading the book! A couple of my friends even list it as one of their all-time favorites, so…it’s gotta be good! Thanks for the teaser!
Great teaser. I really enjoyed the movie, but didn’t realise it was based on a book.
My teaser is here if you’d like a look
An oldie, I haven’t heard of it. I did jot the name down. Great teaser. I hope all is well.
I haven’t heard of this one. And a movie too? I missed that as well.
I picked this book up a few months ago just because I liked the name (my daughter’s name is Ember). I agree – quick read, enjoyable, nothing special about the characters. I might have to find the movie though. Didn’t know there was one!! My TT this week is from The Magicians.
