Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be.
Anyone can play along!
- Grab a book you are reading.
- Open to a random page and pull two sentences.
- Post the book title, author, and page number.
- No spoilers, please.
My quote for this week comes from Legend by Marie Lu, chp 1.
Tess opens her mouth to reply, but before she can say anything, the soldiers are exiting my house, single file, expressionless. Finally, the last soldier shuts the door behind him and reaches for something tucked at his waist. I suddenly feel dizzy. I know what’s coming.

I’ve been looking forward to reading this story for a while and on purpose have ignored reading any reviews – hate being influenced. Legend is a dystopia story with alternative POV from Day and June. The world building is strong, and I’m a sucker for these kinds of settings. I really like Day: he’s the hero, an outcast from the government, and stands for what he believes in. What’s not to like. June I’m on the fence about: 15 year old with a perfect score and capable of doing anything. She’s very skilled. I think the reason I’m not convinced by her is because the decisions she makes are one-sided. I just wish she’d open her eyes. Anyway, I’m 3/4 through the book, and so far I’m finding it pretty predictable and slow at times. I’m really hoping the ending redeems itself, and gives me something I didn’t expect.

I purchased this not too long ago. I had my eye on it for a while.

I’ve been on the fence about this one. I picked it up a couple times, but it just hasn’t sucked me in. You’ll have to let us know what you thought!
Fun tease though!!

Let me know if it gets better and maybe I’ll add it to my TBR list. That was a great teaser, though!
This is on my forever-long TBR list. Let us know how you liked it overall when you’re done? That way maybe I can move it up or down my list accordingly. I trust your judgement! My TT this week is from Angelfall.

Good choice on the teaser!
I usually avoid dystopian stories (made an exception for Hunger Games, though) so I’m not sure if I’ll be checking this out. Let us know if this one ends up being worthwhile, won’t you?
Oh no! What’s coming? I hate reading reviews beforehand as well. I’ll skim for basic info but don’t like detailed reviews. I’m too impressionable i guess
That doesn’t sound good. Here is my teaser for this week.
Hmmm…I’ve heard many mixed reviews about this one. The teaser makes it sound interesting though.
My TT
Ooh! I need to know what is coming. Great tease!
