There are many excuses I can use to stop writing, and these are pretty much self-inflicted, but then there’s my cat whom I seem to have little control over.
My cat Cosmo.
Like an alarm clock, every few hours he starts meowing and howling to be let outside. He goes downstairs where his voice projects through the house, and if that fails he starts flicking the lever on my chair – yep he knows what he’s doing. It drives me crazy. Now you may say, why don’t I just leave him outside, and I would, except for one reason. The neighbor’s attack cat.
This feline hides in the backyard ready to pounce on Cosmo and probably shred him to pieces. Seriously, this cat is vicious to the point where one day it chased Cosmo into our house and scratched my hubby’s foot before scuttling out. Officially, we have a demonic cat living next door, and I have my water gun ready each time I let Cosmo out – I’ve become the cat’s bodyguard!
Those self-inflicted reasons
Yeah, we all know this one well, maybe a bit too well. Procrastination and distraction both live here, and lately I’ve been ‘just popping’ into twitter, email, facebook and other blogs way too much. Maybe more than a normal person does, and so I’m declaring myself an internet tramp.
I’m seriously considering switching off the internet a few hours a days, which just happens to be downstairs and should be a deterrent. Fingers crossed it works.
What out of control hindrances stop you from writing?
And on a lighter mood, I found this awesome image on the net and wanted to share it with you 🙂
