Here goes nothing…
I travel to China for work twice a year, and it is in Hong Kong that I first discovered Ben & Jerry’s ice creams. For those who haven’t heard of them, here’s a small blurb:
‘Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, armed with a $5 correspondence course in ice cream making, opened their very first scoop shop in a dilapidated gas station in downtown Burlington, Vermont. They soon became popular in the local community for the finest all natural ice cream. Ben had no sense of taste so he relied on what he called ‘mouth feel’, so big chunks of chocolate, fruit and nut became their signature.’
The first flavor I ever tried is now my favorite – Phish Food. This mouth-watering ice cream has fish-shaped chocolate pieces mixed with marshmallows and the richest chocolate.
My second favorite is Chocolate Fudge Brownie with chunky brownie pieces. I guiltily admit I ate this last night while watching the new TV series ‘Teen Wolf’, and perhaps that’s why Ben & Jerry’s is on my mind 🙂
Ben & Jerry’s is now available in Australia, but not all the flavors have hit our shores. The one I really want to try is Peanut Butter Cup.
There are so many flavors, that next time I visit the US, I’ll be tracking down a Ben & Jerry’s ice creamy to try something new. Last time my hubby and I visited Universal Studios in L.A, we stumbled across a Ben & Jerry’s, and yes I devoured some yummy treats. Not to mention the thousand other foods that grabbed my attention. I love discovering new foods from other countries, especially those not sold in Australia.
What’s your favorite ice cream?
