Here goes nothing…
It takes me an hour and a half to drive to work and then another hour and a half to drive back home, which to me is dead time that could be better used writing or reading, so I’ve started doing the next best thing – listening to audio books, and I LOVE it!
I’m so engrossed in the plot that the non-moving traffic doesn’t bother me any more, and I usually sit in the work parking lot a few extra minutes, unable to leave until I hear what happens next. By the time I reach the office, I’m relaxed and calm. Plus it means I get to plough through more books that I want read.
Currently I’m listening to Dean Koontz novel, ‘What The Night Knows.’ It is an eerie thriller about a murderer who comes back as a demonic spirit for revenge.
But I’ve discovered that audio books are great for other areas too, like exercising on the tread mill in the mornings. Yep, it makes exercising fun! Currently I’m listening to Kate Lauren’s novel, ‘Passion.’ It’s the third in the ‘Fallen’ series – about angels and love that can never be – gushy and for young adults, but I’m a sucker for them:)
While I’m on a roll, here are the other books I’m currently reading, depending on where I am… I have this habit of leaving books around the house waiting to be read, depending on where I go in the house.
Sitting outside in the backyard, beneath the sun I’m reading Jon Skovron’s ‘Misfit,’ on my kindle – no sun glare – awesome.
On the couch when hubby is downstairs on his PC, I’m reading Sarah Beth Durst’s ‘Drink, Slay, Love.’ It’s about a vampire girl who gets stabbed in the heart by a unicorn – so couldn’t pass up that concept.
I even have a book I read only when I go to the hairdressers – now I have no idea why I do this, but I can’t seem to pick up this book any other time – hence it will take me a while to finish it off. Suzanne Collin’s ‘Catching Fire.’ Book two in the Hunger Games series.
I’m going through a YA phase at the moment – mostly because I’m finishing off my outline for a brand new YA novel – so what better way kick off then to read the genre.
What bad habits do you have around the house?
