Here goes nothing…
For a few weeks now I’ve been procrastinating about whether I should participate in NaNoWriMo. After all, I’ve started writing a brand new novel, so the timing couldn’t be more perfect. As always, I joined up on October 31 – the day before it kicked off. This is my first time attempting NaNoWriMo and am a complete newbie, so if you have any pointers that will help me out, please send them this way. I’m quite excited about this challenge, and plan to achieve the 50K word. Positive thinking.
Would love to hear who else is joining, and if you’re interested to be my buddy, you can find me under Tania. F. Walsh or simply click here. Not sure what that means yet, but I’m bound to find out soon enough.
I have my story all outlined and broken down by chapters. I’m a bit of a control freak, hence I need to have some system of outlining before attempting such a feat, though I know I will stray from the plan. I’m writing a YA dark fantasy, which is heavily influenced by Norse mythology. So I’ve been doing a lot of research.
Got my timing all planned out. Get up early every day and the first thing I will do is write between 1600-2000 words. I will not read other blogs, emails, surf tumbler, or anything else that grabs my interest until I have finished the daily writings. That’s my promise to myself!
What about you? If you’re attempting NaNoWriMo, what’s your story about?
