Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be.
Anyone can play along!
– Grab a book you are reading.
– Open to a random page and pull two sentences.
– Post the book title, author, and page number.
– No spoilers, please.
My quote for this week comes from The Host by Stephenie Meyer, chp 1.
He gazed anxiously at the human female’s body, peaceful in slumber, knowing that this peace would be shattered as soon as she awoke. All the horror of this young woman’s end would be borne by the innocent soul he’d just placed inside her.
I’ve been meaning to read this book for a while – heard many good things about it – so I finally got my hands on a copy. I’m up to chapter twelve, and I have to be honest when I say, I ‘m struggling to continue. It’s slow, way too much talking and nothing happening with a lot of info dump. Beneath all that is a very cool premise, which I really like, but for me it’s being drowned out by all the other information. I’m putting this aside for now and will try getting back into it later.
